In Desperate Search of Yarn Hoarders Anon Group....

I have really been feeling guilty about all the yarn I have scattered in various places around town...which means closets, storage building, garage, shop...it's a hunka buncha yarn.  So.  One of my most important and thrifty resolutions this year is to use what I have and not buy any yarn for the rest of the year.  (I'm starting a little late....).  It's really unbelievable how much yarn I have...but most importantly...how much I keep bringing home. There actually is a purpose for each skein at the time!  And although I am constantly in search of the perfect charity for my finished donations, I very seldom participate.  I have good intentions, just get easily sidetracked.  Speaking on my own behalf though, I do make many items for my grandbabies and family members and friends as gifts.  AHA!  There's my pitfall.  I want the PERFECT color, texture or pattern for my dears and thus I go shopping.  But today is THE day!  No more shopping for yarn.  I am committing the rest of this year to gather my goods in one place, organize the skeins and patterns and supplies I have and start making a difference in this wasteful world I live in!  Really.  I mean it.  I'm going to need professional help to do this though.  The anxiety is already setting in.  My only saving grace is to find the right charity to drive that passion down the road to recovery.  Got my prayer sent up to the Heavens, gonna wait for the answer.  Maybe answers.  I'll probably need more than one to reduce my mounting stringy mass of obsession.  Wish me luck...it's going to take a miracle.  Oh, and don't let my husband in on our little secret.  He's an "I told you so" kind of guy.

Sweater Fever!

Well, I don't even know where to begin.  I bought this yarn a few weeks ago, just fell in love with it.  Had to have it.  No real plans for the beauty, but that never matters to us addicts now does it?  It's Paton's Lace in 'Woodrose'.  The color name is enough to cause chills.  Then.....I found this pattern while traveling somewhere very far out there in cyberspace and fell in love with it too.  And it was free.  If I can find the location, I'll certainly share it with all of you because this is a wonderful pattern.  It's two hexagon squares and that's it.  I'm not kidding either!  One seam up the back and two shoulder seams.  How can that be?  I don't know but here it is.  I don't even know who it belongs to yet!  It's about a size 5 and I have a couple of my little sweeties that just might like it.  We'll see where it ends up.

FREE CROCHET PATTERNS!

I've been thinking alot lately about offering free crochet patterns to anyone interested.  They are not my own creations....haven't mastered the art of that talent yet...maybe that can be my next years resolution.  HOWEVER, I have many many MANY old/vintage magazines that I've purchased through the years from garage sales, estate sales, ebay....under a rock....anywhere and any time I came across them, I would buy buy buy them.  If you are looking for a particular pattern, contact me and I will look through my Stash Mountain to see if I can help.  In the meantime, when I GET time, I'll start putting some on here that you may enjoy.

Baby Girl Has A New Spring Sweater!

I purchased this adorable pattern from http://www.monpetitviolon.etsy.com/ a few months back.  She carries some really cute patterns on her site... check it out!  I used Naturally Caron Spa yarn in Soft Sunshine color.  I love this yarn!  It's a silky bamboo yarn and I purchased it at Hobby Lobby.  I have made several cancer caps for donations out of this yarn.
This was so much fun and worked up pretty darn quick!  Plan to make a couple more of these sweaters for our 4 yr old granddaughters!

Juliet's New Dress!

Today was the day!  I have finished my Juliet's dress I started a couple of weeks ago.  I got the yoke finished and attached, but it seemed to be missing something.  Out came my magazines and books and after much deliberation, I decided on the edging for the hem.  It just seemed to pull it all together!  So...here it is!  I'm hoping to get a crocheted bonnet done by the end of the weekend, to accompany the dress.  Who would have thought a vintage dresser scarf could be transformed into this with a little work.  Hope she enjoys wearing it as much as I have making it!

I Could Have Another Project Finished If I'd STOP Blogging!!!!

Good Morning to All!
It's a blustery 3 degrees!  A great day for cider and crochet!  Usually, it's coffee for me all day and every day but cider just sounds better this morning.  Hopefully, I'll tear myself away soon and get started on my latest project for Juliet.  I found a vintage dresser scarf at an estate sale last summer with pretty little blue flowers embroidered on it....wasn't sure WHAT I'd do with it but just could not leave it there all alone.  Well.  I found it's purpose.  I had to have a granddaughter first and boy did I get a beauty to model the finished goods!  Anyway, I'm making a dress with it but didn't have enough fabric for the yoke so I've crocheted 7 flowers in white thread and am working on making it work!  My plan for today is to finish it and then top it off with a matching crocheted bonnet!
Just wanted to thank you all for the sweet feedback!  I was SO excited to find that I have THREE followers!
My dear Aussie friend, Maggie got that started!  This is so much fun I just can't believe it.  She tried to tell me......
Hope your day is filled with joy and happy moments!
